Honestly, one of the most refreshing films I have seen in a long time. From the first scene ‘The Artist’ whisks you in front of a Cinema screen in late 1920s Hollywood. It documents a declining silent movie actor and a rising glamorous starlet during the transition from silent cinema to the talkies.

George Valentin and Peppy Miller. Power Couple.

I think I also found a new style icon in the leading lady, Peppy Miller. Her spirit shone through in her face and her dresses, Berenice Bejo really did a remarkable job.

 Beautiful Dress, Beautiful Scene
New Crush

I love that 1920’s glamour has oozed its way into spring/summer. Keep hold of those feathers and furs and drop those waists! Just remember to lighten up the colour as recommended by Marchesa in their Spring 2012 Collection….

oooo ahhh FLAPPER!

 Swoon with fringes

 Metallic cut out details..

Feathers are still a must..

What a show stopper, texture a go go

 1920s Disco Ball

Give me texture or give me death.

 Dreamy Fishtails

 Swing, Shake and Exposed

If your looking to channel Ms. Miller without the Marchesa price tag why not give these a wee try:

Day Look: Warehouse Drop Waist Dress £55

Night Look: Biba Flapper Dress £225

This film makes you fall in love with cinema all over again.  I would seriously recommend everyone to watch, even if you think silent films are not your bag, its really the whole package. I was laughing one minute, swooning the next and almost had a good greet!! I love it when a Classic is born…

 Forever yours,

Betty xoxo
