So I know I talk about brunch more than the average fashion and lifestyle blogger, but when you find a new place to dine on perfectly poached eggs and / or sandwiches, needs certainly must. Singl-end is is the literal hidden gem of Glasgow. Tucked away in Garnethill down the road from our beloved Art School, the hot spot took a year long hiatus before coming back with a BAKED! Bread that is…

Since I’ve been back twice already, I could go as far to say that Singl-end is the best thing since sliced bread. But the question is, what kind of bread? They have eight (!!!). That’s right. Eight different kinds of bread, and that’s not the only kinds of baked good everyone is raving about. Creating a ridiculously delicious menu full of home cooked (and mostly gluten free) goodness, it’s fast becoming the just-out-of-the-city-centre-cafe du jour. Catering for even the fussiest of foodies, Singl-End makes sure that everyone leaves with a smile on their face and food in their belly. Not only that, they are fully licenced so those looking for that boozy option, step away from the overpriced fancies and clink your mimosa with this guy.

I really love that the bakehouse has a lot of their tasty goods sitting front of house. Just looking at it sitting there, all delicious, winking at you, really makes you want to try it all! And why not?! It would be rude not too – there’s that saliva again…

Since returning, the homely goods from Singl-end have expanded my usual creature of habit pallet, persuading me to opt for something other than eggs. I mean they were the first thing I ordered on my original visit (see above with Cashew Hollandaise) but the rest of the menu made me want to try more.  I know it’s weird but it takes A LOT for me to move away from what I know and love, and I really do love eggs, especially with avocado and bacon, or salmon… What was I talking about again?

From big Daddy sandwiches (it was a special, soz), scrumptious cakes, fresh smoothies and delicious soups so thick you can stand a spoon in, there really is nothing you can’t love at Singl-End. Added with their friendly ‘everyone’s a regular’ service and their ‘make yourself at home’ decor it’s one cafe I know I’ll be visiting again and again. Have you ever tried Singl-End?

forever yours betty

  1. HAHA! It is indeed a MANWICH! They had two slices left but one would be slightly bigger than the other. The lovely staff gave my brother to finish it and only pay for one thinking that there was no way one person could do that in one sitting. Oh how they were wrong! haha! Hard when it’s that delicious! x
