For those of you that don’t know, Scotland Re:Designed – founded by the legend that is Chris Hunt – works as a platform to promote Scottish design to an international audience in a creative and contemporary fashion. This kind of support and advice money just cant buy, from PR to Stockists to Collaborations the word opportunity is an understatement.

So, what are they looking for you ask? The S:RD New Talent Competition is calling all new names in fashion for a chance to win valuable stepping stones into the big bad world of the fashion and design industry. This year’s competition will be judged by Lorna Carvill of Perry Nelvill – the hugely successful graduate fashion online store. Speaking about her involvement Central St Martins Graduate Lorna said:

“The New Talent Competition is something I’m really excited to be a part of: the work of emerging designers continues to innovate and engage with millions of people around the world and I’m proud to be supporting Scotland Re:Designed in their hunt for the next big designer from Scotland!”

So here are the oh so desirable prizes:

  • A specially designed feature on the  Perry Nelvill website

  • Become a listed designer on www.perrynelvill.com, with collection available for sale

  • Winners designs will feature in a runway show on Friday 8th November in Edinburgh’s Assembly Rooms for an audience of industry professionals, press, special VIP guests and some very lucky ticket holders… can I get a oooOOOooo

The New Talent Competition is open to all graduate designers who have either part of, or a full collection, ready to display. Unlike the main Scotland Re:Designed exhibition you don’t need stockists – you simply need to be able to get some pulses racing using nothing but your raw talent. Seem simple enough?  Visit the SR:D website for more information, you will find the application and the criteria needed to submit it! Good Luck to all entrants this year – I think they will have a tough time choosing!
