We all want to do our bit to help save the world so when Glad Rags Thrift asked me to join a Fashion Revolution, well I just couldn’t say no! This Thursday the 24th of April, Glad Rags are teaming up with Ethical fashion collective, Refashion Glasgowto celebrate Fashion Revolution Day . The big question is, who made your clothes?!

frdlandscapelogo Turning fashion into a force for good, Fashion Revolution Day marks the one year anniversary of the Rana Plaza Factory disaster in Bangladesh (the deadliest garment-factory accident in history) by providing a worldwide platform celebrating best practice within the industry. The whole point is to ask questions, raise standards, make a difference and most of all demonstrate that change is possible no matter how small. If you haven’t done so before, I would have a swatch at the Love Your Clothes site for a whole bunch of ideas on how you can make the most of what you have, look after what you’ve got and dispose of your unwanted clothing in the right way. Come’on guys! Your clothes deserve the best until the very end of their lifetime! Fashion-Revolution-Day-2 So, back to the event! The lovely folk at Glad Rags Thrift are celebrating the Fashion Revolution by creating a fabulous evening featuring a Blogger Fashion Challenge and a free fashion swap shop within their big sister neighbour, Glad Cafe in Shawlands. I will be joined by fellow local bloggers Miss West End Girl and Last Year’s Girl in showing you how stylish ethical fashion can be using only goodies donated in the swap shop. We’ve all heard the saying, one girls trash is another girls treasure – let’s make it happen! Fashion-Revolution-Day-1 For all those first time swappers, here’s the deal; bring three or more items clothing that are in great condition but maybe an impulse buy that is wasting space in your wardrobe . Drop off all your items at Glad Rags Thrift from 5-6.30pm on Thursday to be put forward for the swap. For your clothes you will be given a coloured coupon to represent what rail you can swap at; high street, designer, vintage etc . When the event starts at 7.00pm it is up to you to go meet your fashion destiny and exchange your coloured coupon for your new found love. I love a good Swap Shop and I promise it is the perfect way to update your wardrobe without spending a penny! At the end of the night, any items remaining will be donated to Glad Rags Thrift in support of the Glad Foundation. New clothes and being charitable? There’s a revolution I am glad to be involved in! So see you all this Thursday at 7pm then? 20140218-000745.jpg
