For a while now I have been awwing at girls looking all kinds of good in trainers. I have never been a trainers girl, like, ever. I would have my token pair for P.E and a pair of converse for good measure. This why it felt so alien to me when I took a stab at the Sports Luxe trend for a busy day of meetings and workshops in Edinburgh and dare I say it? I liked it!

I had a voucher for BANK Fashion from the Scottish Bloggers Christmas Party, so took advantage of the extra cash to invest in a pair of trainers to see if I would wear them. I am still kind of getting used to the more casual look as you would normally find me  in no less than a 2 inch heel during the day, but I have a feeling I will be dabbling in Sports Luxe some more in the future!

Even though I have a petite frame, I have quite the curvy shape so I need to be careful to not end up looking like a big square or a bag lady. I ended up pulling out a dress I haven’t worn in a LONG time, my infamous ‘One Month, One Dress’ dress. It has been well over a year since this baby has been on my back and she fits the sports luxe trend perfectly. I tried a belt but it made the look not fit the trainers, so I thought I’d try the shirt around the waist look which helped break things up a touch. Although this is a sporty (well for me) look and much more casual than what I’d normally wear to meetings, I felt so comfortable walking into the Balmoral for our workshop with luxury time piece brand Jaeger LeCoultre. Myself and Bee completely fell for the floral decor in the bathroom – swoon!

The Balmoral Bathroom – I need this Decor in my life

All in all I’m sure I’m gonna be giving this trend another whirl. It is too comfy and too stylish to not take advantage of while we can! The question is, how would you do Sports Luxe?

  1. This is a look I’ve always been too afraid to try, you’ve convinced me to give it a bash I think! My trainers are normally reserved for the gym but I may have to try something a bit different!
    Looks great on you!
