When it comes to a transitioning wardrobe, some swaps come easier than others. The jersey tee gets swapped for the turtleneck, the sleeveless shirt for the full sleeve and breathable cotton for the cosy knits. But really if you want to dip your toe into dressing for cold or unpredictable weather, all you have to do is well, cover them up! Like it or not, we’re only gonna get colder, but while we’re at that in-between stage, it’s about dressing half winter wool, and half summer bare legs, apparently!

When we’ve had summers like we’ve had, we can all forget about Autumn. Really, this is boot season and it’s my favourite of them all. I don’t need dem grey skies to tell me that it’s high time I brought out my favourite boots! From ankle to lace up, knee to thigh highs, it wouldn’t be a new season without investing in a new pair, and at £42 it would be rude not to! These 60’s style snake skin ankle skimmers from Topshop are just what A/W 15 asked for, now if only these alone scratched the itch. Turns out, I have a thing for boots, specifically, ankle boots (hello Zara navy blue patent numbers, I am watching you…)
betty boden 2betty boden 7IMG_6969I love putting a modern twist on vintage styles so when Boden released their Best of British collection some of the pieces stole my heart including this button detail mini! I’m a sucker for red and pink clashes and had to pair it with my new boots and matching Bus bag. I have been wearing a lot of this amazing 3D Printed ring by Lynne Maclachlan which almost gives the essence of a slinky on your finger! It’s got a beautiful felty feel and has been hand dyed and printed using Nylon. Talk about modern takes, more like back to the future!

It’s easy to fall into a certain habit when shopping for a new season, so just think carefully on what you already have in your wardrobe and what will help give your existing pieces a new look. A new pair of boots, ring or a novelty bag can blend them into any ensemble with ease.  The only problem now (besides knowing which way the weather will fly) is choosing what styles to invest in! Happy new season shopping everyone!

forever yours betty
