The fashion Gods were looking down upon Glasgow last night as the largest department store in our city House of Fraser, launched something  fabulous, exciting and bloody well legendary: House of Fraser Presents…

20131122-175050.jpgHow amazing is that? Right in amongst Prada and McQueen will be the most talked about up and coming designers from Scotland, selling their wears to the masses in their very own city. Man, I just got goosebumps thinking about it!  Situated on the 2nd floor Womanswear balcony, each designer will create their very own little shop and be featured in the store for 10 days. First in is Rebecca Torres.

Everyone knows I am no stranger to a Torres! Renowned for her beautiful shapes, colours and celebration of the female form, Rebecca has graced the covers from Grazia to Vogue, not to mention a sell out collection on ASOS! Every girl needs a Torres in their life for that fail safe feel good number. I even hang mine on my walls to cheer me up every day! Here’s what Rebecca had to say about her new partnership with HOF…
I honestly can’t believe I am here, right in between the likes of Kooples and Moschino is my name! Growing up, my Mum worked in Frasers so it really is so special to have the opportunity to sell my clothes here. As soon as we got the clearance, I knew what I wanted it to look like and I am absolutely thrilled at the results!
Rebecca Torres will be stocked from 21st of November until 2nd December.

Next up is Glasgow based duo Saunt & Sinner. Emma Noble and Toni Roddie, studied Fashion & Textiles at Grays School of Art and have since relocated to Scotland’s Fashion Capitol to push the brand to the next level. And boy are they doing it with spades! A huge fan of their scarves, I loved watching their new collection Dooman which launched in The Lighthouse a few months ago. It’s amazing to think soon I will see them with their very own matt in our biggest and oldest department store!

The whole thing is very exciting, we can’t wait to see our space and working with House of Fraser has been an unbelievable experience, we’re counting down the days!

Saunt and Sinner will be stocked from 2nd  until 15th of December

Last but by no means least to complete the Popup will be Scottish Fashion Awards’ graduate of the Year (2012) Joanne McGillvray. With a background in textiles and impeccable ladylike style, Joanne recently showcased her SS14 collection in SWG3 (hello clear PVC jacket with the orange trim…) When asking her how she felt about having her own shop 2nd collection in she said:
It feels so surreal, I only launched this year so I still feel really young so to be stocked somewhere as big as House of Fraser in my own town is just unbelievable. It’s something you think you only dream about and I want people to feel like they are getting to know me and my journey when walking into my space
Her stunning AW13 collection will be onsale from 17th to the 30th of December.

The Pop up follows a recent investment to the store’s Womenswear floor including some amazing brands like Hallhuber and one of my personal faves Norr (more on that soon!)  When you pop in you should definitely look at what new brands they have on offer! Also, just remember ladies, this opportunity is unbelievable for the Scottish Fashion Community. Realistically, the more they sell, the more opportunities like this will arise to support independent design. I’ll be catching up with the ladies to see what they come up with for their very own wee shops at each drop! Go on, treat yourself to an indie dress this Christmas Party!
