Everybody knows that finding the perfect outfit can be an all day affair. It\u2019s sods law that every time you find something half decent it\u2019s always the wrong colour or length. The search can lead you all corners of your favourite stores and sometimes the journey holds nothing but disappointment. When you live in Scotland, that shift between Winter and Summer can be pretty difficult on your wardrobe. Things can get a little crazy as you frantically chuck your thigh highs to one side and search for the perfect pair of gladiators. On Saturday, BLOW will be packed full of this summers essentials to make things a little easier for you and your closet. What\u2019s more, is Topshop will be joined by their head personal shopper Alice McColm to help you get the style your way. As a former stylist from publications such as Elle and Harpers Baazar, I\u2019m pretty confident in saying you\u2019ll be in safe hands!<\/p>\n

While Topshop give you the style essentials for this summer, the girls at the award winning BLOW will be giving complimentary braids to launch their new #BRAIDBAR! Let\u2019s face it, you can\u2019t scroll through Pinterest without seeing at least six dozen tutorials: fishtails, milkmaids, French. My\u00a0issue? No matter how many times I attempt the \u201coh-so-simple\u201d how-tos, I can\u2019t get my fingers to coordinate with each other to create the perfect weave. So what\u2019s a girl to do? Bring on the BLOW!<\/p>\n

Of course for last night\u2019s launch night, I went completely HAM in Topshop. I\u2019m trying to rebuild staple items in my wardrobe that will take me season to season. I found this super cute baby doll style dress shirt which was a complete no-brainer. With it\u2019s 3\/4 sleeves and dropped hem at the back, it will look lovely in the summer with a pair of gladiators or heels. As the weather isn\u2019t quite there yet, I paired it with some high waisted Bixlr jeans which I\u2019ve not had off since purchase. A step up from the essential Joni jeans, the added belt loops and thicker denim of the Bixlr\u00a0is a classic, even with the flare pushing it\u2019s way through! I\u2019ve been on the search for the perfect long waistcoat for a while and this classic navy streamlined number had me at side splits. It\u2019s one of these basics you can fling on top of anything to make your look that little bit smarter. Of course, since it\u2019s me, I rounded the outfit off with the Tumblr loving Milk Carton bag from Skinny Dip.\u00a0But if I\u2019m being really honest, for me it was all about the lace up shoes!<\/p>\n

There are people who are amazing at braiding, and then there are the rest of us. \u00a0Frustrating? Completely. But,\u00a0thank God for contemporary\u00a0colour and style bar BLOW who after this weekend\u2019s complimentary braids will be launching the new #BraidBar menu priced between \u00a310 \u2013 \u00a325. With names like Real Slim Braidy, Carrie Braidshaw and Braid in Glasgow and add on accessories like hoops, extensions\u00a0and feathers, these braids will be more than your average. The BLOW girls have got their braids down, there\u2019s no plait too complicated or too whimsical for their nimble fingers.\u00a0My fingers and thumbs thank you.<\/p>\n
