This ivory lace stunner is the garment to be named Audry Hepburn’s lucky dress, and it will very soon be set up for auction.<\/span> After being noninated for an Oscar for Roman Holiday, Hepbrun wanted to wear a dress that embodied her character within the film, so she had a dress specially adapted from a costume in which she wore within her film which can be found in the final scenes with a played down matching jacket and hat combo.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For the Oscar’s Hepburn had the dress altered by studio designer Edith Head, she added her usual glamour by creating a very plunging back line and spaghetti straps. Oor Audrey apparently used to say that it was this dress that helped her earn her first – and only – Oscar and not to mention land Edith Head her own gong for Costume Design.<\/p>\n
