Getting bored of all this pissing wet rain we have been getting? Yea, me too! That is why I am super excited to get my Spring / Summer fill next Thursday (13th of March) with Bold Souls, Off the Catwalk: Summer Preview.
With the closure of shops like Che Camille and La La Land you never really get the chance to walk into a shop and buy independent on the day you see it. Bold Souls love to do things differently, not only are they creating 3 floors of independent shopping in Glasgow City Centres Hummingbird from 5.30pm – 9pm, but there will also be an opportunity for you to see the designs which you covet (with the option of buying there and then too!).
Seeing clothes in motion really does add to the fantasy. You get to see the whole look put together exactly the way designer wanted from head to toe and boy are there some AMAZING designers and retailers showcasing! For the fashion show, my beloved Chouchou will be showing some of her new hoods fit for those Spring showers that we all know will happen. Think bang on trend florals with the hint of heritage that we all know and love. She is joined by Scottish Fashion Award winner Joanne McGillivray, who’s collection showcase I sadly missed so cant WAIT to see everything (particularly that PVC raincoat) strut their on the runway next week!
Scotland Re:Designed New Talent shortlisted Naromode will also be there débuting their much anticipated second collection. Word on the street is they are inspired by another Grimms Brothers tale, but which one I ask, WHICH ONE?! Next up we have Vanilla Ink alumni jeweller Scarlett Erskine who’s laser cut jewels are just to die for. Along for the show are cult brand Rock and Royalty Couture and Spoiled Brat who have a plethora of brands normally sitting within their online home, but this time you can get to touch, feel and TRY ALL the pieces that they will have both on their stall and within the show. Returning for their 2nd Bold Souls event are printed apparel brand Prints of Paradise and one of my personal local favourites, Danni McWilliams. The last time I walked out with a mustard wool crop and an olive midi split skirt from Danni, so I am expecting my wallet to be a lot lighter by the time I leave!
Tickets to the fashion show are limited to 100 and for the bargain price of £10 you receive a Kopparburg on arrival, mini burger, goody bag and of course entry to the amazing fashion show within Humingburds beautiful penthouse. You can buy your ticket here as if past shows are anything to go by, there will be none left at the door on the night – don’t say I didn’t warn you! Entry to the pop up shop is COMPLETELY FREE so even if you are curious about shopping local, it is totally worth popping along for a swatch after work.
It’s open till 9pm, what’s your excuse? Come on and SHOP LOCAL!
I’m coming!
