“When the clocks strikes, two, three and four, my credit card’s greetin as I yell out for more!”
Yea. So this is the way it’s gonna be. The future of shopping comes down to waiting for amazing talented people to group together and create a shopping experience which would make any fashion lover weak at the knees. Open from today (Thursday 21st of November) in Princes Square at 5pm for just 4 days, this is a one stop shop for independent design in Scotland. Oh, did I mention it was a sample sale just in time for Christmas? I KNOW! Let me introduce to you the designers: Lets start of with the queens of Popup. My beloved Bebaroque. Oh how I love thee, let me count the ways – or purchases I have made every time they come to the city! I am in desperate need for a new pair of tights, and perhaps a body but I have always had an eye on their dresses. God help us all. Who to gift? Anyone and everyone would appreciate a Bebaroque stocking. A must in any wardrobe! Ahhhh Georgia Wiseman Jewellery, known for her chunky geometric sparkles I’ve been desperate for a piece since first wearing her to the Scottish Style Awards a few weeks ago. Who to gift? Someone close to your heart, one of these babies will last a lifetime. Next is the wonderful Joanne McGillivray, popular with the Chelsea circuit I have admired Joanne’s use of prints since first coming across her work a few years ago. Her Spring/Summer 14 collection is her strongest yet and I already am eyeing up a few pieces! Not only will you find her A/W collection at the Pop up this weekend, you will also find her wears as a part of House of Fraser Presents.. in December (more about that tomorrow!) Who to gift? A Joanne McGillivray scarf is an amazing gift for any loved one at any age You can’t get much finer than cashmere made in Scotland, what tops it off is when it’s made by Rosie Sugden – Scottish Cashmere. For hats, scarves, snoods and head gear as featured in the pages of Marie Claire to Vogue no less, Rosie’s exquisite designs just ooze luxury. Who to gift: Best pal, Mammy or a treat for yourself now the winter snap is well and truley with us! Coming in from the East Coast, Rene Walrus offers designs with intricate wirework and crystal embroidery, yes crystal embroidery! Perfect for any bride, fashionista and fairy princesses alike, all lovingly hand-made at their studios in Edinburgh. Full try on sesh with your pals is definitely necessary
for this one. Who to gift? Your sister, girlfriend or best pal. Ah. Rebecca Torres. Me and Torres go way back and honestly, her dresses make you feel like a superhero. Due to the body con nature of most of her dresses, people get quite frightened but I am here telling you to TRY THE DAMN THING ON! You wont regret it and it will fast become your ‘F*** him, I’m wearing ma Torres’ dress. You will also find Rebecca’s collection as apart of House of Fraser Presents… also launching today! More on that tomorrow! Who to gift? Nu uh, Torres’s MUST be a present to yourself, your body deserves it! Last but definetely not least there is the wonder that is Karen Mabon. My Bee introduced her work to me a while back, and each time I check in with her I am blown away with her playfulness and nods to pop culture. Let me tell you if the Beauty Pagent collection with Coco Fennell is there, then may the fashion gods help us all. Who to gift? Me please. All of it. Well I for one will be there for doors open at 5pm, handbags and credit cards ready ladies and gents!
