Instagram is hardly short of hairspiration, but few accounts captivate my imagination quite like #BLOW. The Finnieston based salon is known for creating hair colour so beautiful it would make a unicorn jealous. So it made complete sense that they expanded their already vast range of coloured hair dye to include Cruelty-Free favourite Manic Panic to their rainbow selection. But, rather than just gush about it, #BLOW celebrated with a cyber girl gang photoshoot featuring all the colours of the rainbow. Even if you think you’d never dye your hair a bright colour, this is eye candy worth a swatch. Do you want to be in our girl gang?
Just when you thought they couldn’t see the back of those glitter roots, BLOW got together with photographer Tub of Jelly for a shoot that didn’t lack some sparkle! With my girl Bee on the creative direction, I jumped in front of the camera with some of BLOW’s best bitches to show just how sassy cruelty free hair can be and as you can see, the results were nothing short of colourful.
At the end of the day, I like my hair dye like I like my makeup – cruelty-free, so when BLOW suggested I swap my signature tangerine locks for the photoshoot, there’s no one else I would trust for the job. We ended up going for a canary yellow half and half fringe which went perfectly with the lime green sequin jacket from Isolated Heroes. I’m always a bit cautious about getting my photograph taken without my glasses, but the matching yellow cat eye flicks by MUA Sophie Crompton were too perfect to be covered.
With their Instagram account like a window into an alternate, always-sunny universe, a girl gang shoot is the only way to play. Is coloured hair the new blonde? If this shoot is anything to go by, coloured hair certainly has more fun! What do you think of BLOW’s new shoot? Will you be giving cruelty free hair a go?
Check out BLOW, Finnieston or their pop up style bar in Silverburn, Glasgow.
*NOTE* After this shoot went live, Manic Panic asked BLOW to be an official salon, putting Scottish hair on the MAP!
I’ve been wanting bright hair for ages but haven’t been able to find anywhere that I really trust (and the cruelty-free thing is a big deal for me too). Will definitely be giving these guys a call in the new year!
So glad! Honestly you are in some great bunny friendly hands! X
I’d never even considered hair dye to be cruelty free – it’s definitely something I’ll think about now! When the weather gets warmer I want my dip dye back with some funky colourful ends so must give MP a try!
Oh please do, they are awesome and just released a bunch of new colours! X
