There ain’t no party like a Scot Street Style party. The creative folks of Scotland once again gathered together in Glasgow’s SWG3 to network, blether and have general good times! In true Scot Street Style fashion, we marched to the beat of our own drum by having the first ever book launch that didn’t even need the book itself to celebrate. We’re all together, so let’s PARTY #ONWARD!

Like every gathering, there is always a lot going on: music, photography, mingling and of course drinking! This time the excitement was all around Simon Murphy’s mini pop up studio. It was so much fun getting some extra styling by the incredible Ze Ladum and her collection of fab vintage goodies. I completely fell for a neck ruffle and matching cuffs. I can totally work them into an everyday outfit, right?
We tend to place a lot of pressure on what to wear on the night, heaven forbid you should blend in! Should you don those boots that make you feel amazing but everyone is sick of the sight of? Should you go for a classic Torres or slip on some Saunt and Sinner for size? The answer is you should wear what ever you damn well please! The people watching is my favourite part of a SSS gathering (well, apart from the people themselves) The stunning array of local design is just overwhelming, it is like a full on #shoplocal fashion show and I love it! Although if there was one designer that was absolutely stole the show this Gathering, it would have to be Obscure Couture.
Top Missguided, Skirt Obscure Couture, Boots Miista, Bag Luna on the Moon
From floods of fur and florals, to sheer polka skater skirts, Obscure Couture were killin it in the Scot Street Style stakes. I decided to go all out and wear something completely out of my comfort zone – H2T black. I suppose as the skirt is sheer and playful, it doesn’t way me down the same way as other black outfits. Wearing it with a simple Missguided classic tee and of course my black Miistas because, is there any other boot? The answer is always no. It was the first outing for my adorable Luna on the Moon watermelon bag which brightened up the whole outfit, not to mention give some serious smiles!

If you ordered a copy of #ONWARD you can collect your copy from the various pick up points across Scotland including The Brotique in Edinburgh, Rebel Rebel in Glasgow and Hard Grind in Dundee. As always it was fantastic to catch up with friends from all over the country as well as make some completely new ones. I am gutted to not make the next Gathering in NYC but its safe to say that G will carry us all there in spirit. Let’s just hope someone represents in wearing something local! Did you head to the Gathering? What was your favourite outfit?
