First there was the chicken, then along came the egg. No, I’m not talking old wives tales, I’m talking handbags. It was these items which first sparked an obsession within my wardrobe, one which has only grown since I spied the A/W catwalks. Sure, it was only a matter of time for the high-street to follow the likes of Moschino and Ayna Hindmarch to the Supermarket Sweep, but it is New Look who has taken it to the next level…

…I mean, WOULD YOU JUST LOOK AT THESE! Each one just as fabulous as the other and at £12.99 a pop why not invest in the whole set?! New Look are completely on fire with their accessories at the moment and these quirky numbers are no exception. I decided to give the Sundae first dibs and wore it to the Debenhams AW14 Press Launch in Glasgow’s Blytheswood Square, here’s how I wore it. photo 3 (24)

I love basing an outfit around quirky statements and dressing towards a theme. I was totally inspired by the sweetness of the Shake bag and wanted to create an outfit just as sickly!  I found these pink dogtooth tailored trousers within the Missguided sale a few months back. It was my first pair of trousers from there and the fit is slightly off for my shape, but at £12.99 who’s complaining right? I hid the slightly loose fit of the trousers with a form fitting classic polo from Primark (£4) and joojed it up with a bit of local design in the shape of this amazing Danni McWilliams fur stole. I finished the look with Zara T Bar shoes (also sale) and a bold pink lip,  this outfit is definitely giving me a toothache!

There was a yellow Jonathan Saunders number in particular which I haven’t been able to stop thinking about, and lets not even talk about the H! from Henry Holland leather which was winking at me, the flirtatious temptress…

I love it when the high street get it right, especially when you find something that you know you’ll love as long as it fits / stays in tact. I think these fast food bags will be regularly featured within my wardrobe for years to come, no matter what the catwalk tells me! If anything they are only adding to my obsession, question is which food group would you like to see me style next?

forever yours betty

  1. Love how you’ve styled it. I couldn’t stop thinking about these clutches, so ordered a couple last week. They’ve got Christmas themed ones and dare I say two colours of unicorn heads coming out (hopefully next month) too. Can’t wait!
