Since the launch of the Commonwealth, I have been finding it difficult to keep track of what day it is. With the city buzzing and taps firmly aff temperatures, it was glorious to have a half day Thursday to spend with my ladies doing all things fabulous. First up it was off to experience something so surreal you would have to see it to believe it, the John Lewis Pop up Tea on the Green.

You would never believe that you were sitting smack bang in the middle of the city centre, in front of not only scaffolding and a busy road junction,  but also one of Glasgow’s biggest tourist attractions – The Duke of Wellington and his fabulous cone heed. Myself, Bee, Honey Pop and Miss West End Girl gathered outside with excitement as we saw the perfect wall to wall green, covered in an array of mounted clocks and TV’s displaying everything the Games had to offer. When we walked inside, our jaw officially dropped with the perfection of the spread, not to mention the furniture that went with it! This wonderful initiative will be at Royal Exchange Square until the 3rd of August so if you haven’t already, click here to see if you can still grab a table!

After some giggles, LOTS of Instagram photos and many an egg mayo sandwich later, we gathered our things (and our new Teapots – Thanks John Lewis!) and hauled ass to Queen Street to our next destination, a secret one for a show so special, the world created a mist to surround it’s wonder, it was time to Crave.

Walking out into a misty car park by the Edinburgh docks was such a spooky yet stunning setting to showcase the exclusive Crave collections by some incredible talents; Saunt and Sinner, Jacob Birge and one of my all time favourites, Obscure Couture. Of course I was waving the OC Flag  by wearing one of my favourite pieces from their new Vulgar collection, the Guns and Titties play suit.

I decided to keep it simple and let their gun print speak for itself. I paired it with these amazing perspex black toe heels from boohoo which I picked up last year and my staple Ted Baker black and gold bag. Although the playsuit was A LOT shorter than I would usually bare, it felt absolutely incredible to strut my stuff when Crave began to rave…

With Crave becoming one of the first completely interactive shoppable magazines to hit the net, of course it was unlikely that they were going to showcase their exclusive ranges in any ordinary fashion (show). Once the clocks hit 9pm, we headed underground for a live photoshoot, debuting 6 looks from each designer.

Each collection had something great to say. Jacob Birge wowed us with a stunning, elegant and contemporary capsule wardrobe while Saunt and Sinner brought some really wearable separates to the table…and then there was Obscure Couture. Not ones to do anything quietly, this collection was a magpies dream with four metre trains, metallics and bows the size of Texas to boot. I love the opulence of the shapes as well as their very own bug/jewel print to set everything off. I’ll have that massive peplum dress to go please…. Already planning your first purchase? So you should be! Shop the full collection here and NOW!

As far as Thursdays go, this was a bit of a belter although, my Friday morning head didn’t necessarily agree! Who would you like to see make the next Crave collections?

forever yours betty

  1. Awww thank you lovely! You were sorely missed from both occassions but I’m sure your suntan will make up for it! xxx

  2. What a great way to spend a Thursday! Love that playsuit on you, such a stand out print. The collections look amazing. Adore the colour combo of Saunt & Sinner’s pieces. The models hair and make up is also rather fierce. Hx
