We love a good celebration in Glasgow so when Oasis announced their Buchanan Galleries store was getting a super ‘House of Oasis’ makeover, they hiked their pink grassy bunnies and picket fences up to Scotland just for the occasion! The launch coincided with a fashion showcase of their Spring / Summer collection within The Lighthouse last Tuesday, myself and Honey Pop had to investigate!
The collection was everything you would want from a high street summer wardrobe. The perfect combinations of colour and print in very easy to wear styles. I loved that Oasis went to town on the matchy matchy prints that almost looked like jammies until flung on with a pair of strappy stilettos. My favourite look of the collection had to be a full H2T snakeprint look with dress, coat, bag AND shoes, it definitely ticked my go big or go home boxes! I absolutely adore a good prop and that was something Oasis had down for the show. From the pink grassy knolls, bird feeders, baskets and bunnies it felt like we had our own version of Wisteria Lane on the 5th floor of The Lighthouse.
I was working from home before the show so it was a strict jeans and teeshirt attire for me. I gave my River Island jeans a S/S14 makeover by snipping the seams off the bottom for a raw edge ankle grazer look. I wore them with my favourite Rush Girl boots from Schuh, my new (old) favourite up cycled Datamation Denim jacket topped off with my new Hayley Scanlan bomber to play with texture. I never thought in a million years that i would ever rock a bomber jacket, it was all a bit too East 17 for me but once I saw this PVC bad boy from one of my favourite Scottish designers, it would have been rude not to…
It was so lovely to see a high street store put on an event like this in Glasgow. With tickets being also sold on itison Events it gave everyone #FROW access to one of their favourite High Street brands. If you are passing Buchanan Galleries, be sure to pop into the new Oasis superstore and check out the AMAZING mural by our very own Little Book of Transfers on Buchanan Street.
Where did you get the fabric to cover the jacket? Did it take long to do? I havent done much sewing before! Love your style!
Hi Mary, we found the dalmation in this fabric shop ‘doon the barras’ it only took around an hour to do! So chuffed! Give it a whirl! x
