When is the appropriate time to pull out a chicken bag? No this isn’t the start of some weird joke, I genuinely asked myself this very question last week when realising my new chicken bag has only had one outing since its purchase over a month ago. This needed to be rectified immediately.
I am such a sucker for things that are other things be it handbags, perfume bottles, lighters; really made in China is my oyster! On one of my many online jaunts around eBay I was randomly punching in different phrases of animals to find a new handbag in the shape of a cute wee creature. Then I cam across this rubber monstrosity! I was unsure if I loved it or found it the funniest thing I have ever seen. So of course I bought it! I have been getting some great wee finds on eBay recently. I took a little hiatus after loosing all my patience with it for a few months but since regaining my fashion mojo, I am now back in the eBay zone! The other day I was meeting with a bunch of girlfriends to head to the Pop Up in Princes Square, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to not only get my chicken out, but début my new tassel shirt (also great ebay find) to complete my prairie girl look!
Glasses: Miu Miu from Pretavoir, Shirt: eBay, Dress: Cos, Boots: Schuh, Chicken: ebay (similar found here) , Watch: John Rocha from Debenhams, Earrings: Georgia Wiseman Jewellery
After a right good shop, blether and giggle with the girls, I was so excited to have landed an appointment with the supremely talented Nancy McNails while she was visiting Glasgow. Rumour has it she has a collab coming out with none other than our own DIY Nails (you didn’t hear it from me) and as you could imagine I JUMPED at the chance! I have admired Nancy’s talent for free hand mini nail art for some time. She has such an eye for design and colour and always chooses the cutest nostalgiac themes for your talons! I wanted her to have free reign on my nails with one condition – everything was orange – this is what we came up with!
It is safe to say these are the cutest nails an orange obsessed girl could ask for! She included everything from my favourite drink (Irn Bru) to a mini self portait all drawn completely freehand. It really is impressive to watch! She lives in Essex normally but DO NOT FRET she also hand paints her own falsies so everyone can get right in about her creativity! Obviously I love shopping Independent but the cherry on top is knowing she is one of the sweetest girls going, I am already researching my next theme… did someone say Jetsons?
What would you get on your Nancy McNails?
Love the bag and nails xxx
