As you all may know, I am a self confessed instagram addict. Over 6 months ago (well 31 weeks according to IG) I was featured in what is now become the online phenomenon that is Scotstreetstyle. Since then, the community has grown to just under 3500 people from around the globe giving Scottish Style – and the creatives – an outlet to express themselves, collaborate and more. It is now the time to put down the phones and unite for the #thegathering2 and I for one can’t wait!

ScotStreetStyle is redefining Street Style photography for the Social Media masses. Using insta-repost and the beloved hashtag, founder Gordon J. Miller showcases everything from outfits to designers, models to photographers, not mention supporting the blogging community! I’ve never met a kinder soul than G, forever the optimist, he strives to bring people together in order to fulfill true potential, if there is a man who you should hug immediately on arrival, it would be him (pictured above).
With an open doors policy, this Friday (the 31st of January!) #thegathering2 will begin within one of Glasgow City Centres newest independent stores, Minted on King St at 5pm. With a new take on 2nd hand clothing, Minted provides good-as-new designer labels on a tight budget, as well as showcasing some of Scotland’s up and coming clothing labels including Outsiders Apparel and Acid Reflux Clothing, which will be launching on the night. This is also owned by (in my opinon) one of the most stylish guys in Glasgow, Mr. George Black, so all you boys and girls better head on down there, this guys got TASTE!
After a few hours of mingling and shopping, the night will move to West End hotspot, The Hillhead Bookclub from 7pm. Taking over the entire balcony area, #thegathering2 is not only to bring like minded creatives and style lovers together but also encourages people to put down their phones and discover who is behind the hashtag. If all that isn’t enough, some of our cities most talented photographers (Mr David Boni and Andy Bell) will be capturing the night, as well as Hillhead Bookclub’s very own ‘insta-booth’ set up for group snaps!
