Phew. That was a busy first week back into the grind! Just before I jetted off on my holidays  I attended the launch for the new Dr. Martens store which opened on Edinburgh’s Princes Street. There’s not many events that would convince myself and partner in crime Miss Bee to squish onto the commuters train to the capital, but Dr. Martens was one we were never gonna miss!

My first pair of Dr. Martens was back at the glorious days of Clydebank High School, where I first donned my black, calf high classic 1460’s boots. They cut my feet up something rotten but after persistence they were a regular occurrence on my feet! One things for sure… I thought they were the coolest things I’d ever seen.

When attending the launch I was asked to pick a pair to take home, the store was my Oyster and I decided to go with an absolute classic  –  the 3989 stitch brogue in – dare I say it – black.

Black is never my go to, where people are scared of colour I am petrified of the shade so these were somewhat of a risk for me however with Docs all coming with their lifetime guarantee, I felt that these were the perfect choice! After the launch we all took the party to Cab Voltaire for their Dr Martens Club night (£3 entry if you wear your Doc’s!) where myself and Bee had our new shoes customised. We both ended up going for Betty and Bee gold menchy’s on the opposite inside foot. So, here’s how I’ve been wearing them…

Dr. Martens will launch their ‘#STANDFORSOMETHINGNCL Search’ – a region-wide hunt for an authentic Edinburgh Doc Martens wearer to star in its Spring/Summer 2015 #STANDFORSOMETHING international ad campaign. So you too can get involved… all you have to do is tweet a photo and a statement of what you stand for using @DRMARTENSOFFICIAL #STANDFORSOMETHING. It’s a great campaign idea and I can’t wait to search through the entries on instagram! How do you wear yours?
