So last night was the launch of Sloans new Street Food menu and never one to nock back a good feed, I headed down with my beloved Bee Waits for a taste. Due to the delights of Scottish weather, said Street Food had to be served indoors due to the dramatic down pour which hit the city centre just hours before. Pfft. Trust Glasgow to be awkward.

photo 1 The menu was extremely tastey! Albeit very chip heavy, it had all the classics with a few extra twists. Never let down by Sloans famous Mac n’ Cheese I continued to gorge on their new twists with ehh…chips, bacon and some lovely salsa. My favourite of the night HAD to be ‘The Cowboy’, i.e. Ribs AND Wings, smothered in hot sauce AND Blue Cheese (with chips of course!). I’m usually an absolute wee pussy when it comes to hot things but this sauce was lovely, not too nippy with a nice edge to it. The portions were HUGE so perfect for sharing if you are wanting a wee bite before a big swally. Seriously worth checking out. photo 2 Sporting two lovely food babies and a small case of the meat sweats, Claire and I headed up to the The John Lewis Vintage Event for a catch up with their lovely staff and a quick lesson on how to make a peter pan collar. The strawberry tarts were hefty eyeing me up so couldn’t help but batter in, it would be rude not to right?

photo 4Some of the lovely ‘Make Do and Mend’ing products on display at the event. I love the wee Polkadot Sewing Machine for only £49! Go have a look in their Glasgow store for some lovely ideas to get in the vintage crafting spirit!

Miu Miu

This week has been super busy but its so exiting to see so many great events happening in around Glasgow and Edinburgh. I used to be a little scared of the capital (West is my lovely bubble) but I am thoroughly enjoying the jaunts through. Thus Saturday, the wee fashion mafia will be heading back through for the Edinburgh International Fashion Festival’s Future Fashion Show and Design Fair. They have definitely picked a great selection of local talent and with today being pay day, I am scared for my holiday fund! You can get your tickets for Future Fashion or the Closing Party with hairdresser extraordinaire Gianni Scumaci here. 532284_10151396875682691_1290275753_n Sunday will bring my dose of the Glasgow Vintage Festival. I was hoping to fit in more of this but everything seems to be happening this week! I will be heading to the Vintage Market (curated by my favourites Gin in Teacups) and then to the Gatsby Fashion Show styled by the sickeningly talented Scottish Fashion Award Nominee, Lynne McCrossen. The Vintage Festival is apart of the Merchant City Festival and has so many events happening, be sure to catch one of them or miss out! You can get your tickets here. Phew, I’m knackered already! What are you guys doing this weekend? 20130228-224101
