After jumping on this band wagon some time ago, I am thrilled to see that Cat Eye glasses are making their way back onto the runway. Gone are the boring rimless or square shapes of the high street, hello glamour pussy-cat-eye!

After Prada gave us a hint of what was to come in the Autumn, Giles, Dior and Jeremy Scott followed suit for that sexy 50s starlet this spring. The instant short-cut to transforming any old boring outfit to immediately stylish retro look.

Prada A/W 2010 Giving us a hint of what was to come. Love the two tone.

Galliano’s Last Performance, All Glamour complete with flicks and Betty Page Bangs.
Jeremy Scott’s bold prints and leather teamed with finger rolls and head scarves
Giles Decon showing wear-ability of the specs in oversized jumpers and trainers to sandals and sundresses!

If you are looking for the best shape to suit your face, Francis Klein is the designer du jour. The French family ran business makes exquisite frames which are hand made and decorated within their own studio. These are my favourites, you can find them at Niche the Optical Tailor in Glasgow.

‘Vierzon’ Comes in Four Different Colours Diamante Accent, great colours for this season

The Squarer Cat Eye ‘Risk’ Loving the brown to green gradient
Beautifully hand carved ‘Moly’ with Pearlised droplets
Ever so Dainty! The new framless style! stunning with the side detail on the stems
Ooh La La Dame Edna! It takes the brave to pull off these bad boys but who doesn’t love a tortoise shell combo!

For those of you who are unlucky enough to not need to wear glasses at all times, DO NOT FRET. These simple Tom Ford Nikita’s, or, for the fashion fabulous these Alexander Wang numbers are my hot spectacles for Spring, so ditch those Wayfarers and STRUT.

I will leave you with another Swollock showcasing some of Glasgow’s most stylish frames from Niche the Optical Tailor. They have two stores in Glasgow, one in Candlerigges selling the very best in designer frames, and the other within We Love to Boogie on Byres Road flaunting some of the most beautiful vintage frames with a purse friendly price point! Our dear friend Brenda is the owner and no-one can fit frames to faces like she can. So feast yer peepers on some of beautiful vintage frames available!

Forever yours,

Betty xoxo
