My relationship with denim has always been bitter sweet. While shopping for jeans can leave a bad taste in your mouth, finding other denim items can be the perfect ingredients to complete a somewhat bread and butter look. This season, I was delighted to see that shearling were making a major comeback in winter, and even more so what I saw it was paired with denim like this little number from Pepe Jeans.

Shearling is one of those quick fire fabrics that either push you into aviator realness, or add that luxe 70’s finish to most outfits. Since I was wearing my staple off duty retro soccer style jeans and tee, the easiest way to add an element of interesting was this delicious shearling jacket. With it’s exaggerated coller, turned up cuffs and completely lined interior, this was the perfect winter update to my favourite fall fabric. I mean, I’m not the only one who was sad to put their denim jacket away for the season, am I right?

By adding in that oh so needed texture, the denim shearling can really work wonders. From flinging ontop of a boxy silk shift dress to pairing it with a mini and some knee high boots, this little number will keep you warm while giving the cost per wear we all look for when investing in a cozy new coat.

I suspect that this will not be the only shearling piece that will make its way into my wardrobe before the end of the year. Especially with it being flung across everything from bags to hairbands – not to mention the Kenzo / H&M collab – it looks like it’s here to stay and thank goodness for that! Keeping warm never looked so good.

forever yours betty
