First of all, if you’ve not heard of Isolated Heroes yet, where the hell have you been?! The Dundee based brand synonymous with sequins, sass and style icons like Miley Cyrus are invading Glasgow next weekend (27th -28th August) with their very own pop up, bringing the bright lights of Las Vegas to South Block. The sassy shoppers paradise will not only have current season for sale, but will also be showcasing their brand spanking new collection Nevada, which serves nothing but Rhine Stone Cowboy meets Casino Chic with leopard print, glitter and appliques galore. As one of my all time fav Scottish brands I was dying to catch up with the woman behind all that sequins, Samantha Paton, to talk the new collection, instagram and of course, the Madonna Inn.

Hiya Sam! First up, lets cut to the chase! I am soooooo excited about your very first solo pop up in Glasgow. What made you choose our fair city for the location of this very special occasion?

Glasgow has always been special to Isolated Heroes. It’s just a thriving city and there is always something going on! Not to mention an amazing creative scene and always such a good atmosphere. So many of our customers are here and every time we street cast for models online all of the best applications are always from Glasgow 💁🏼 everyone just seems to have their own personal style! We cannot waitttt to host this event!

Well we can’t wait for you to arrive! You are presenting your new collection at the pop up shop all inspired by Las Vegas, Navada. Can you tell us your favourite items from the collection?
It’s so hard to pick a specific item! I love the sequin motifs we have worked on this season from beaded flaming dice, sequin cactuses and embroidered casino chips! Embellishing suede bomber jackets for autumn winter and sheer tshirt dresses in our signature silhouettes. I also love the blue striped sequin split dress. The rainbow striped split dresses sold out instantly last season and we have updated this in a new colour way. They are just so much fun to wear out!

It all sounds incredible, but for some #realtalk, we were all addicted to your honeymoon snapchats across America, did the Madonna Inn live up to your expectations??
OMG YES America stole my heart! Everyone NEEDS to stay in the Madonna inn at least once in their life. The whole place is bursting with inspiration from the sparkly wallpaper in the bathrooms to the fluffy pink walls and carpets. The Madonna inn has always been a Pinterest love of mine so to get to stay in real life was a complete dream come true. I left feeling so energised and inspired with a lifetime of colour palette’s and sequin swatch ideas for motifs.

One day, one day! On a more digital note, your instagram feed is one of my personal faves as you are just as much about the inspo as you are your own product. Who are your favourite accounts we should all be following?
I still find Instagram the best app in terms of inspiration. My favourite accounts to follow are:
@belindadibrowa c – it’s all very pink. So much colour and texture inspiration and beautifulllll pictures!
@shesvague – the throwbacks are hilarious! So many 90s style icons
@gabriel_held – he’s an NYC based vintage collector and stylist and the posts are unreal. So much vintage Versace, Thierry Mugler & Icons of the 80s and 90s.

Follow, follow and follow. Thanks gurl! Lastly, if you could host a private presentation dinner for the Nevada collection people – dead or alive – who would be on the guestlist?
Oh god so I’m gonna go for dead alive and fictional characters if that’s ok! The ultimate Nevada dinner party would have … Dolly Parton at the head of the table because she’s the queen! Nudie Cohn the original rhinestone cowboy! We took so much Inspo from his colour palettes and the sparkly rodeo suits he made for Elvis. Alabama Worley because who wouldn’t want her at a dinner party – the ultimate trashy icon! Isabella blow as she is the favourite style icon, and we should finish it off with the King himself.

Now there’s a dinner party I would never wanna miss! Don’t forgot, Isolated Heroes first solo pop up shop is coming to Glasgow THIS WEEKEND at South Block! Be sure to go in, check out the new collection and be prepared to be become a magpie amongst all that glitters for sizes up to 24. See you there?
