Everybody knows that finding the perfect outfit can be an all day affair. It’s sods law that every time you find something half decent it’s always the wrong colour or length. The search can lead you all corners of your favourite stores and sometimes the journey holds nothing but disappointment. But what if you had a personal shopper do all the legwork for you?  Topshop have always killed it on the high street and their Personal Shopping service is absolutely FREE! This weekend they are teaming up with my favourite salon #BLOW for a Topshop Takeover that Finnieston will never forget, question is, you comin’?

Topshop X Blow Invite

When you live in Scotland, that shift between Winter and Summer can be pretty difficult on your wardrobe. Things can get a little crazy as you frantically chuck your thigh highs to one side and search for the perfect pair of gladiators. On Saturday, BLOW will be packed full of this summers essentials to make things a little easier for you and your closet. What’s more, is Topshop will be joined by their head personal shopper Alice McColm to help you get the style your way. As a former stylist from publications such as Elle and Harpers Baazar, I’m pretty confident in saying you’ll be in safe hands!

Full Look H2T Topshop

While Topshop give you the style essentials for this summer, the girls at the award winning BLOW will be giving complimentary braids to launch their new #BRAIDBAR! Let’s face it, you can’t scroll through Pinterest without seeing at least six dozen tutorials: fishtails, milkmaids, French. My issue? No matter how many times I attempt the “oh-so-simple” how-tos, I can’t get my fingers to coordinate with each other to create the perfect weave. So what’s a girl to do? Bring on the BLOW!

Of course for last night’s launch night, I went completely HAM in Topshop. I’m trying to rebuild staple items in my wardrobe that will take me season to season. I found this super cute baby doll style dress shirt which was a complete no-brainer. With it’s 3/4 sleeves and dropped hem at the back, it will look lovely in the summer with a pair of gladiators or heels. As the weather isn’t quite there yet, I paired it with some high waisted Bixlr jeans which I’ve not had off since purchase. A step up from the essential Joni jeans, the added belt loops and thicker denim of the Bixlr is a classic, even with the flare pushing it’s way through! I’ve been on the search for the perfect long waistcoat for a while and this classic navy streamlined number had me at side splits. It’s one of these basics you can fling on top of anything to make your look that little bit smarter. Of course, since it’s me, I rounded the outfit off with the Tumblr loving Milk Carton bag from Skinny Dip. But if I’m being really honest, for me it was all about the lace up shoes!

There are people who are amazing at braiding, and then there are the rest of us.  Frustrating? Completely. But, thank God for contemporary colour and style bar BLOW who after this weekend’s complimentary braids will be launching the new #BraidBar menu priced between £10 – £25. With names like Real Slim Braidy, Carrie Braidshaw and Braid in Glasgow and add on accessories like hoops, extensions and feathers, these braids will be more than your average. The BLOW girls have got their braids down, there’s no plait too complicated or too whimsical for their nimble fingers. My fingers and thumbs thank you.
