I love it when ASOS come to town. From the lovely company, delicious food and stunning setting there really isn’t a better way to sneak peak at the season to come. Myself and an exclusive selection of press and bloggers were invited to celebrate this coming summer over a three course meal in the private dining area of the Blythswood Hotel. After mingling through the samples from their High Summer 15 collection, it was safe to say the whole experience was going to leave me fashion crushing. For a S/S collection it was all very Suede-y, furry and covered in sequins, that which you would imagine a Christmas collection. But ASOS have twisted on the norm in creating a beautiful collection fit for a seventies superstar, and I for one  totally on board with it.

Like my steak, Suede is thick, rich and delicious. It is the perfect durable fabric, especially for clumsy girls like me. From stunning little playsuits to fringed waistcoats to shoes in the richest of browns, mustards and caramels, ASOS really got all your rusty  needs down. I know you may be thinking it’s all a bit much but suede works so well with denim and can be styled in a similar way. In keeping with the seventies trend, it took me less than three seconds to fall for a shoe string strap, full sequins wide leg jumpsuit. Unlike the picture below the sample was in a soft blush colour, with dipped low back and a glorious weight to it.  Studio 54 called, and they want you centre stage, honey. There were also some furry hints of Americana paired with holographic and sequins style denims. Although it’s pretty much the anti summer wardrobe of what you’d normally expect, I actually love the twists they have done to predictably winter fabrics, the cost per wear goes right down as I promise, you’ll be wearing everything for the next few years at least!

As I mentioned before, I’ve pretty much set up camp with this 70’s trend and it I ain’t  going anywhere! With the weather picking up I finally cracked out my Meadham Kirchoff coatigan for the first time this year. The bell bottom sleeves perfectly balance my new fave sale purchase, my H&M Trend flares. With some cute piping and zip detailing, these will be a staple right the way through to A/W15, and at £15 I know it was a sale purchase worth taking.

I have been getting such good wear from these brown boots from Boden. The heel is perfect for everyday use and perfect for wearing with all these flayers ive been investing in recently. If there is any essential you buy this season, make it a ribbed sheer polo. Shops are going big on their  statement outerwear and bottoms, it’s the perfect way to finish any ensemble without reaching for the usual classic tee. Especially when there are a few statements happening already! My yellow Jump From Paper bag was – for me – the perfect finishing touch to what was a smart but quirky take to the seventies. Their new collection is everything with a whole load of new 2D shapes for you to choose from!

Coat: Meadham X Topshop, Polo: Topshop, Trousers: H&M, Shoes: Boden, Bag: Jump from Paper, Hat: Primark

Thank you to ASOS for such a wonderful evening and company, I think this will be a wardrobe both myself, Penny Lane and Stevie Nicks would gush over! What do you think? Suede in Summer? So wrong it is just oh so right!
