As soon as I caught wind that there was going to be a pop up shop within the amazing new(ish) bar Kelvingrove Café it immediately intrigued me. When I found out it was organised by my good friend Silvia (brainchild of Chouchou and of Bold Souls fame) I know it would not just be another pop up shop, but a showcase of the best of the best. FFPopUp_flyer It was an intimate affair down the stairs of the saloon style bar with 5 designers showcasing including Chouchou, Jane Gowans Jewellery, Hilary Grant knitwear, Trakke bags and one of my favourite textile designers – Nicki McWilliams.

photo 4 Taking her inspiration from some of the most quality biscuits on the market and a wink to Scottish culture, Dundee based Nikki McWilliams has produced a delicious range of cushions which have been at the top of my homeware wish list for I don’t know how long. When I saw that she would be there on payday I knew that fate was flinging me an opportunity! Teacake, Caramel Log – Yer mine. photo 1 (1)photo 2 (1) After a very tasty batch of salted beef macaroni (wi the parmasan chips, obviously.) I headed back down for a second look and ultimately a try on session with Miss Chouchou herself. Her hoods are every fashion fans dream, glamorous individual, luxurious and most importantly ridiculously stylish! Matched with outerwear or worn on their own as a statement piece, Silvia’s designs are the ‘stop and stare’ kind of affair. I think every Scottish girl should have their own ‘Hollyhood’ perfect for those Summer storms we have been having! photo (2) After just a few days my made to measure hood was ready to pick up. I could not be any more thrilled with her (yes I always personify my clothing, this hood is most definitely a ‘she’). Getting ready to go out for a spot of lunch with Mumma Swollock I am actually quite sad I can’t use her to her full potential with all this sunshine! Looks like a summer hood may be the second Chouchou investment! photo (1) Keep an eye on my Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram for updates future pop up shops and Betty recommended fayres. Its the best way to get key pieces which will last forever and always add that little bit of individuality to any outfit. Make sure you check out the full collection on Chouchou’s website. Which ones are your favourites? 20130228-224101.jpg
